    Hi Gmoelen,
Kann Ich im Deutsche Sprache antworten, aber Ich preferiere im Englische Sprache.

I read your question this morning....via Google. It was accidently and not on purpose.
Anyhow..... Although rather late, still here the answer to your question:

The 70BR6U2 is a so called (many names):
    -Thermal Switch
    -Thermal Cut Out Device
    - Thermostat
    -Thermo Outlet
    -Thermal Protector
    -Thermistor

The purpose of that part is typically a
    OVERCHARGE PROTECTION & OVERCURRENT PROTECTION!

The 70BR6U2 will activate at 70 degree. Thus, when your batteries reaches the warmth of 70 degrees, then automatically your batteries will be (electronically) disconnected, till the temperature falls down again.

It is just meant as a precaution for your batteries.

But....... if you do not connect the 70BR..., well...nothing wrong....as long as you do not overcharge your batteries or over-exhaust (long term use) your batteries. As a result rising the battery temperature.
But...down the water I can not imagine that the batteries will get very warm!

This is maybe the answer to your question and hopefully helpful to you.

If....when....you answer me...please feel free to do it in your language (German)

    Good luck then.

With all warmest regards from Pangandaran, West-Java
